2016 Value Statement Statewide vehicle safety inspection platform. This mobile-first platform improves the statewide vehicle inspection process by allowing authorized vehicle inspection stations to conduct and submit inspection results to the Maryland State Police (MSP) electronically. This service creates a database that the MSP uses to track all vehicle inspections throughout the state and helps to eliminate fraudulent inspection certificates. The Maryland Motor Vehicle (MVA) Administration also receives inspection data electronically which eliminates the need for the paper certificate to be provided to the agency by the vehicle owner and reduces foot traffic at MVA branch offices.
