The service offered automated scheduling of bus inspections. The service was built using a tablet-first approach and allows inspectors to use mobile devices to inspect and report inspection results electronically. MVA inspectors could pass or create a repair order for each bus that is inspected. This state-of-the-art, tablet-first inspection platform replaced a paper inspection process and allows inspectors to use mobile devices to inspect and report results electronically. Results were transmitted to the MDOT MVA in real-time and used by the agency to better track, analyze, and report the inspection results and repair orders for every school bus in the state. Inspections were completed in 50% less time.
